Every year millions of tonnes of plastic are sent to landfill and dumped into our oceans, and we all need to take responsibility. Even recyclable packaging isn't enough, as it is rarely recycled more than once and still takes over 1000 years to decompose. This is why we have been working so hard to create truly sustainable, zero waste packaging for all of our products. We wanted a solution that actually makes a difference and doesn't just put a bandaid over the problem. So we have created packaging that is 100% home compostable, which means it is made entirely from plants and will compost in your food waste or even your back garden.
Biodegradable Packaging Bags also manufacture a range of ecofriendly bags from regular polythene that contains an additive which acts as a catalyst to accelerate the degradation process.
Biodegradable packaging bags, these products have shelf life of approximately 12 months, after which point they are deddsigned to first degrade into small pieces-triggered by sunlight, heat or mechanical stress-and then biodegrade into natural materials.
This process takes somewhere between a few weeks and a matter of months, depending on the disposal environment-wather then decades or centuries, as is the case with regular polythene.
This is oxo-degradable packaging is suitable for disposing of in the bin as it will break sown in the upper levels of landfill, when exposed to oxygen and mechanical stress. It can be placed in home compost, although it would decompose very slowly and does not meet the requirements for EN13432.

Compostable vs. Biodegradable?
Biodegradable: it is misleading to merely claim biodegradability without any standard specification.
If a material or product is advertised to be biodegradable, further information about the timeframe, the level of biodegradation, and the required surrounding conditions should be provided, too.
Compostable: if a product is specified to be compostable, the claim is not only unambiguous(i.e. to be treaded in an industrial compost plant or home composting bins), but there is another big benefits: it differentiates itself from products marketed to be 'oxo-biodegradable' or similar claim. Products marketed as oxo-biodegradable do not fulfil the requirements of EN 13432 and other standard on industrial compostability, and are therefore not certified as compostable.
